DN1-60-ID and DN1-60-ID/s fillers are available for filling quarter drums and pails and they are excellent for lines where
large numbers of quarter drums and pails are filled
CONTAINERS:
The DN1-60-ID is capable of filling containers from 10 to 60
liters (2.5 to 16 gal.) They are normally used for filling containers
from 5 to 60 liters (2.5 - 16 gal.) for most of their fills.
PRODUCTS
The DN1-60-ID models can fill non-foaming liquid and semi-liquid products with viscosities
up to 500,000 cps if the product will level off in the container when
poured.
Sub-surface model DN1-60-ID/S is capable of filling foaming liquids or non-foaming liquids
and semi-liquids.
Contact parts are available in brass & steel (standard), 316
Stainless Steel, Sanitary (3A) Stainless Steel, and Titanium to meet the needs
of most filling situations.
OPERATION
The operator places an empty container on the filling platform with the opening
below the nozzle and presses the operating button. On the DN1-60-ID
the nozzle descends 50 cm (2") and opens. Fast-Fill begins. When the Slow-Flow Weight is
reached, the product flow is reduced until the shut-off weight is
reached and the nozzle closes and rises. The operator places the next container
and begins the next fill.
The Sub-Surface filler, DN1-60-ID/S, operation includes a descending
nozzle which descends to the bottom of the container, the tip opens and the nozzle rises slowly
during the fill cycle.
If the DN1-60-ID or DN1-60-ID/S model us used and the container is 4 liters or larger, the operator will usually close
the filled container while the next container fills. If the container
has a screw cap, he will use an electric or pneumatic cap tightener; if
the container is a plastic or metal pail, he will use a CLS-60 pail
closer.
WEIGHING DEVICE/ACCURACY:
The machine uses an electronic load cell with digital indicator. The
load cell is incremented to 0.05 kg or 0.1 lbs. Fast-Fill/Slow-Fill
is included on the machine. Fill accuracy is maintained at +/-1 increment of
target weight. (To +/- 0.1%)
The standard model uses a preset tare. The operator will place an
empty container on the filling platform before filling and press the tare
button. This will be maintained as the tare for all the fill, or until the
operator tares another empty container. Automatic Tare for each container
is optional.
INSTALLATION:
The machine is shipped assembled. It must be placed in its operating position
and connected to the electric service, compressed air source, and product
supply. The machine includes its own filter, regulator and lubricator
for the pneumatic system.
SUPPLY OF PRODUCT:
Product may be supplied to the machine from a gravity source (elevated tank) or
from a pump. The maximum pressure acceptable on the product line is 3 bar
(40 p.s.i.). If a pump is used, it should be a non-surging type and
have the ability to limit the pressure at the machine connection.
CHANGE OF CONTAINER:
When changing containers, the weight settings must be changed and the
height of the nozzle must be changed. The weight settings are entered
on the keypad. On the DN1-60-ID the nozzle height is
adjusted by a rack and gear system.
CHANGE OF PRODUCT:
To change the product, the product source is disconnected and the contact parts
drained. The contact parts are then flushed with a solvent.
The machine may be equipped with removable product contact parts to permit
all the contact parts to be quickly removed and replaced by a second
contact parts unit to allow them to be cleaned at a remote cleaning
station.
See Options: CIP nozzle, Sanitary Contact Parts.
MAINTENANCE:
The machine has a heavy duty welded steel frame. The standard paint
is a stainless steel pigment polyurethane coating which is approved
by the U.S.D.A. for use in food plants. The construction is open so
that it can be easily cleaned. Key parts are stainless steel. Most
system components are in protective enclosures.
The pneumatic and electrical systems have visual and tactile indicators
for easy "trouble shooting." An illustrated installation/ operation /
maintenance manual is included.
The regular maintenance includes lubrication of moving parts, emptying
the pneumatic filter regularly, filling the pneumatic lubricator, and
regularly cleaning the machine.
SAFETY:
The operator has an emergency stop botton to terminate the fill if
he sees a problem. There are no large moving parts.
NOISE CONTROL:
The 'A' level is less than 30 db at 1 meter. Cylinders exhaust
through mufflers inside the control box.
UTILITIES REQUIRED:
Electric: The scale must be conneted to a clean electrical source with
110-120 v, 50-60 hz, 1 phase service. The solenoids require the same
electrical service.
Pneumatic: DN1-60-ID requires approximately 45 liters/min. at 6 bar (
1.5 cu. ft/min at 80 p.s.i.). The DN1-DR-ID/S filler requires approximately 100 liters/min. at 6 bar (
3 cu. ft/min at 80 p.s.i.)
PERSONNEL REQUIRED:
One worker is required to operate the machine. On the DN1-25-ID and DN1-25-ID/S, the
worker will normally operate the filler, and close the containers.
OPERATING SPACE:
DN1-60-ID: Approximately 130 x 120 cm (5' x 4').
DN1-25-ID/S: Approximately 130 x 120 cm (5' x 4')
SHIPPING MEASUREMENTS:
DN1-60-ID: Approximately 150 x 150 x 200 cm (5.5' x 5.5' x 7').
DN1-60-ID/S: Approximately 150 x 150 x 250 cm (4' x 6' x 7.5').
SHIPPING WEIGHT:
DN1-60-ID: Approximately 500 kg (1100 lbs).
DN1-60-ID/S: Approximately 550 kg (1200 lbs).

CI closers for lug cover drums and kegs are available in automatic, semi-automatic
and manual models. Automatic and semi-automatic models are adjustable for
several size containers, with speeds to 6 pails per minute.
To close plastic pails on the automatic and semi-automatic models, the closing head may be
quickly and easily changed to permit the machine to close either metal or plastic pails, or
both metal and plastic containers.
